Owner & Coach
I have spent over 16 years in the strength and conditioning industry as a PE teacher and sports/strength coach. I hold a Certification as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), and FMS - Level I.
Prior to teaching, I was a 4-year letter-man for Frostburg State University Football graduating with a B.S. degree in Physical Education. I then continued my education earning a Master’s of Science degree in Leadership from McDaniel College. Throughout my career, I have had extensive experience writing sports specific strength & conditioning programs for individual high school athletes as well as varsity teams, including: football, men’s & women’s soccer, men’s & women’s lacrosse, wrestling, and baseball. I continue to work with college level athletes to aide in their strength and athletic performance. In addition to his direct involvement with high school athletics, he has also been a lead teacher developing and implementing county-wide strength & conditioning curriculum and assessments.
My awareness of the consistently evolving fitness industry, makes it a priority for me to stay up to date on new strategies and program design. I continue to increase my knowledge through: developing relationships with fitness industry leaders around the country; joining fitness cohorts; and maintaining my own active lifestyle. When I am not busy coaching others, I enjoy spending time with my lovely wife Jennifer and my two beautiful daughters Addison and Alex. We are frequently involved with sports and try to enjoy the outdoors as much as possible!
Coach; HKC Certified Instructor
Originally from Va. Beach, VA my personal experience in strength training began in high school, as a multi-sport athlete involved in soccer, swimming and competitive cheerleading. Weight training at that point was foreign so I just did what the guys did! My competitive nature took over and I wanted to lift as much as I could (looking back a bad idea, but oh well). I continued to develop, change bad habits, and refine my training over many years. After college I spent 9 years coaching various levels of women's soccer, and participating in triathlons....this is where I really developed a passion for working in the weight room and conditioning my athletes, as well as myself. Fast-forward a few more years and enter my husband, who sharing all of his knowledge, passion, and experience of strength & conditioning, I have learned A TON thanks to him! I continuously read and gather current information in the industry, as well as work on my own programs. After receiving my Hardstyle Kettlebell Certification, I jumped right in and began teaching 2-3 times per week! I am not only passionate about teaching our classes but also my full-time job as a math teacher & Varsity soccer coach at Lackey HS. Spending time with my husband Patrick (outside of the gym), our two daughters, and our sweet fur babies Camden & Hank is what makes my days amazing...and being near the water :)
Coach; Kettlebell Level 1 Instructor
I am originally from Western Pa where I grew up being a very active individual. I was a multi-sport athlete involved in volleyball, basketball, and track. As I continued into college it was without a doubt that I wanted to be a part of a profession that was active. I graduated from Slippery Rock University, PA with a B.S. degree in Health and Physical Education. I minored in Aquatics where I obtained many certifications including a CPR/Lifeguard Instructor. As a freshman in college, I made the decision to continue competing in track. This is where I gained a greater knowledge of weight lifting.
After college, my husband and I moved to Southern Maryland where I will begin my 13th year of teaching Health, Physical Education and Aquatic classes. I continued my education with a Masters in Educational Leadership. Along with teaching, I have coached basketball, Unified Track and Bocce and I have also taught water aerobics for Charles County Recreation and Parks.
I began strength training with Kinetic Performance in October 2019 where I instantly fell in love with the format of the workouts and gym. Recently I have achieved the status of a Certified HardFit Kettlebell Level 1 Instructor. I’m excited to be a part of the coaching staff and look forward to helping others with their strength and fitness journey. When I am not at the gym and teaching, I can be found hanging out with my husband, daughter, and dogs.
I have spent most of my life in fitness. From the age of 5 until age 27, I trained and performed classical ballet. I performed for Ballet Theater of Annapolis (now known as Ballet Theater of Maryland) as a soloist for 6 years. After the birth of my twin girls, I got back into the world of fitness. In 2007 I got my AFAA (Athletics and Fitness Association of America) certification and taught kickboxing, stretch, indoor cycling and a group pump class at a chain fitness center. I taught and trained there for 8 years at which time the gym closed and I had a full hip replacement. I began training with Kinetic Performance in October 2017 and fell in love with their vision, their philosophy and their passion. I wanted to be a part of the coaching team and help motivate and teach strength, movement and fitness. I am HKC certified and I also work for Charles County Public Schools. When I am not training or working, I enjoy camping and spending time with my twin girls, my furbaby, Laila and my husband. I am so excited join the Kinetic Performance coaching team!
